What are the three main land uses in Nigeria?
According to the Federal Office of Statistics (FOS), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO,) agricultural cropland (any land capable of being ploughed and used to grow crops), floodplain agriculture (wherein receding or rising floodwaters provide water for crop cultivation) and grasslands (used for livestock production) constitute the major land uses in Nigeria.
