As a non-profit organisation that makes its reports freely available online, Africa Check depends on donors to cover our costs.
For 2013, we estimate running costs for the Southern Africa operation at around $110,000, with most of this going on paying our editorial staff, website development and communications costs.
To fund this, we are delighted to have the support of the Open Society Foundation for South Africa and the African News Innovation Challenge. But we are seeking further funds to help us run the project and develop it further.
